Here we provides KTU S5/S6 notes for Disaster Management MCN 301 . It is indroduced in 2019. The objective of this course is to introduce the fundamental concepts of hazards and disaster management. You will explore natural and human-made hazards and the impacts they have on communities. Students will examine how the costs of disasters are borne by the taxpayers and how policy decisions influence the types of disasters that threaten our communities.
Through this 2019 Scheme Disaster management course you will also learn about emergency management organizations in action, like the response to Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Irene, and Sandy. Through a series of in-depth case studies, you will explore emergency management activities at all levels of government as well as nongovernmental organizations, including Red Cross shelters for Hurricane Katrina victims and animal rescue operations for Hurricane Sandy.
